How it differs from your star sign
Western star signs follow the Sun and a season-based zodiac. Indian astrology follows the Moon and a star-based (sidereal) zodiac, about 24 degrees behind, so your Rashi often differs from the sign you know.
The twelve Rashis
Mesha (Aries), Vrishabha (Taurus), Mithuna (Gemini), Kataka (Cancer), Simha (Leo), Kanya (Virgo), Tula (Libra), Vrischika (Scorpio), Dhanus (Sagittarius), Makara (Capricorn), Kumbha (Aquarius) and Meena (Pisces).

Questions people ask
Can I find my Rashi without a birth time?
Usually yes; the Moon spends about two and a half days in each sign. Only births near a sign change need the time.
