What is Gochara (transits)?
Gochara means the movement of the planets through the zodiac. In Indian astrology it is read by counting houses from your Moon sign: each planet is traditionally helpful in some houses and testing in others.

Slow and fast planets
Saturn (about 2½ years per sign), Jupiter (about a year) and Rahu–Ketu (about 18 months) set the background. Mars, the Sun, Venus and Mercury shape weeks and months; the Moon shapes the day.
