What the rest of the world asks

How will the eclipse season affect me?

Published 01-11-2026 · · How we answer

Short answer

An eclipse season is a few weeks when the Sun and Moon line up with the lunar nodes, which Vedic astrology calls Rahu and Ketu. The next one runs through February 2027 (annular solar on 6 Feb, penumbral lunar on 20 Feb), then July to August 2027 (penumbral lunar on 18 Jul, total solar on 2 Aug). Its effect depends on where it falls from your Moon sign.

How ChiChakra reads this

ChiChakra reads eclipses through Rahu and Ketu. From 5 December 2026 Rahu moves into Makara and Ketu into Kataka, and the 2027 eclipses fall around that axis. For you, the question is which houses from your Moon sign those two signs occupy; those areas of life tend to feel stirred.

What to do in eclipse weeks

Treat them as review weeks. Notice what is ending or shifting, but avoid forcing big decisions on the eclipse day itself if you can wait a few days.

Solar eclipses are traditionally read as fresh starts that arrive with less clarity, and lunar eclipses as emotional endings or releases. Penumbral lunar eclipses are faint and usually read as mild.

If an eclipse falls in your Moon sign or the 8th sign from it, keep that week simple and protect your rest.

Good to know

Eclipses are a prompt for reflection, not a countdown; nothing has to go wrong.
